I am pleased to be in-network with Aetna. My aim is to provide clear and helpful information to assist you in understanding how Aetna processes claims for lactation services.
Key Points to Understand
Understanding Your Coverage
Key Points to Understand
- Billing Codes: You have a limit of 6 billing codes per year, which means you can have 3 consultations since each one uses 2 codes (one for you and one for your baby).
- Online Classes: "Free" online classes from pump suppliers count toward your 6 billing codes.
- Out-of-Pocket Costs: Even if Aetna says they cover 100%, you might still have to pay some costs.
- "Covered" Doesn't Mean Free: Be aware of possible out-of-pocket costs, like deductibles, coinsurance and copayments.
Understanding Your Coverage
- Review Your Aetna Benefits: Check your plan details before booking to understand your coverage.
- Claims Submission: I will submit claims and can appeal up to two times if needed.
- Remaining Balance: Any balance determined by Aetna will be charged to you.
- Out-of-Pocket Costs: Be aware of possible out-of-pocket costs, like deductibles, coinsurance and copayments. Just because something is "covered" doesn't mean it will be paid in full.
